StudBloom FAQ

The essentials about adding brick-compatible studs to your own printable 3D models.

01

What does StudBloom do?

StudBloom adds real LEGO®-compatible or DUPLO®-compatible stud geometry to selected flat faces of your model. You can inspect the result and export it for slicing.

02

Which file formats can I use?

You can open 3MF or STL files and export the finished model as 3MF or STL. 3MF is the recommended default because it preserves millimetre units and useful metadata.

03

Which surfaces can receive studs?

StudBloom detects flat, axis-aligned top, side and underside faces. A face must have enough unobstructed room for at least one complete stud footprint.

04

Is my model uploaded?

No. Opening, previewing, modifying and exporting the model happens locally in your browser. StudBloom does not receive the model geometry or filename.

05

Is StudBloom affiliated with the LEGO Group?

No. StudBloom is an independent compatibility tool. LEGO® and DUPLO® are trademarks of the LEGO Group, which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse StudBloom.

06

How do I get the right printed fit?

Printer, material and calibration affect fit. Use the diameter, height and tolerance controls, then make a small test print before producing a large part.
